Clickatell's HTTP API is secure with SSL encryption on both inbound and outbound SMS messages.
It allows 2-way SMS messaging giving more opportunities for interactivity. This SMS API also has
batch sending capabilities. This facility enables high volume delivery and server-side message merging.
It offers the end-user the ability to define all elements common to a batch, and then send only the
parameters that change on a message-by-message basis.

If messages are delayed for a client specified length of time, Clickatell's SMS Gateway
will reroute text messages to an alternative delivery gateway. With the HTTP API, developers
can set up 3 priority level queues for text message delivery. With this SMS API, Clickatell
also allows delayed delivery, SMS messages can be held for up to 7 days on request before sending.
For the customer control offered by the HTTP API:
Clickatell's HTTP API offers the option of coverage queries as well as queries re text
message status (both push and pull). Customers are able to make balance enquiries and can
set maximum credit charges. If using the delivery delay feature, it is possible to send stop
or delete SMS messages.
